Jun 10, 2023 · I've been thinking about getting an M1 Carbine replica. I have read discussions of the pros and cons of M1 carbines made by Auto Ordnance, Inland, and Fulton Armory. Seems like the Fulton Armory carbines are the preferred model in a repro gun, but they are quite expensive and usually take a while to get as I think they are built to order.

That is what I was expecting with the M1. Thanks for the education. The most glaring example of the cognitive dissonance on the left is the concept that human beings are inherently good, yet at the same time cannot be trusted with any kind of weapon, unless the magic fairy dust of government authority gets sprinkled upon them.

Dec 6, 2024 · IMHO, get what appeals to you. As far as having any reliability issues the armorers at the CMP will make things right. While there is certainly appeal to having an ‘authentic’ rifle, finding a truly ‘original’ M1, or finding the parts to restore one can be very expensive and would tend to deter the owner from shooting it.

Apr 5, 2009 · The barrel markings reflect 'Blue Sky - Arlington, VA.'; the serial number is 4349706. Under the rear sight, just above the serial number, it looks like it stamped "POS-TER". Do you have any information on this M1, when it was made, and who is 'Blue Sky'? Also, I read that you were looking for one from IBM.

Jan 24, 2024 · The M1 I used for this experiment was one I purchased from the CMP auction. It is a nice IHC that was marked with “American Legion Post 1181” on the inside foregrip. The main stock had a thick coat of poly finish and the other pieces had less finish.

Arlington Ordnance had a warehouse and rebuild facility in Martinsburg WV that shipped us M1 Garands and M1 Carbines by the pallet loads. The company I worked for sold Arlington Ordnance the US GI M1 Garand rebarreling machine they used to rebarrel the M1 Garands. Arlington Ordnance used new barrels in both 30-06 and .308 in the rebuild program.

Oct 21, 2021 · It is safe for the M1 Garand. The 2 measures of pressure are not the same and as stated they can't even be reliably converted by any formula. So with that in mind, I'm still using the recommended M1 Garand specific (Not 30.06 Springfield) starting loads as stated by Hodgdon customer service and that chart posted on their website.
