Mar 5, 2022 · Hello, Figured I would clear out the misinformation in this video and post. This isn’t the latest iDrive System, this is a NBTevo iDrive 5/6 unit, the latest version now is iDrive 8. In the video you retrofit a Europe NBTevo iDrive 5/6 radio into a USA/Canada vehicle, you won’t be able to use Sirius XM or onboard BMW Navigation doing this.

So this just happened to me and it seemed related to the fact that I was using my cel phone with a non-bluetooth headset, although iDrive had paired the phone through bluetooth. I shut off the car (the iDrive screen remains on) but I just walked into the house without ending the call or disconnecting bluetooth.

Oct 22, 2018 · It spits out old iDrive software and isn't compatible with iDrive 6. Possibly the database behind that legacy site only has old VINs and any new VINs incorrectly get assigned the latest version it has. Pure speculation as only BMW can answer this.

Sep 15, 2020 · Ah, another way to make it refresh—delete the artist or album folder, plug in USB and iDrive removes it from memory, now add back and plug in again, iDrive rescans.
