Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman will become the chamber's first Democrat to meet with President-elect Donald Trump since the election and plans to travel to Trump's private resort in Florida.

Pennsylvania Sen. John Fetterman (D) was elected as a progressive, but after his strong pro-Israel stance in the wake of the October 7th Hamas attack, he's been taking a decidedly more moderate approach.

The Pennsylvania Democrat is the first senator in his party to announce a meeting with President-elect Donald J. Trump, a sign of the political times as the Republican trifecta is about to begin.

In an interview, the Pennsylvania senator said his Democratic Party needs to be part of the conversation, not get “freaked out.”
