President Trump yesterday told China to rescind its retaliatory tariffs on the U.S. or face additional tariffs of 50 percent starting tomorrow. The threat came as countries around the world were trying to appeal to the president to have steep tariffs rolled back.

China said it will never accept the "blackmail nature" of the United States after the latter escalated tariff threats against it, the Chinese commerce ministry said on Tuesday.

Chinese state media have announced that China, Japan, and South Korea have reached a consensus to jointly respond to the US's reciprocal tariffs. The three nations aim to facilitate regional trade.
