Cody Rhodes was rumored to face The Rock at WrestleMania 41. However, WWE Hall of Famer Bully Ray suggested The American Nightmare could go head-to-head against another legend instead.

WWE's Cody Rhodes says becoming a father changed his entire perspective on wrestling and his career while speaking exclusively to PEOPLE at the WWE 'Raw' event in Los Angeles on Jan. 6.

Fightful Select learned in November that the plan in motion had been John Cena vs. Cody Rhodes, which was a match that those close to Cody Rhodes had actually hoped for in years past. This plan was enacted because WWE didn't expect The Rock to compete at WrestleMania to prepare in the event he couldn't.

Cody Rhodes will speak on the January 24th episode of WWE SmackDown. In a tweet, WWE announced that Joe Tessitore would interview Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes on the show. Rhodes and Kevin Owens are set to have a contract signing at WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event for their match at WWE Royal Rumble.

This week's episode of Smackdown will now feature an exclusive interview with Undisputed WWE Champion, Cody Rhodes. Smackdown announcer, Joe Tessitore, announced the news Friday afternoon on WWE social media channels.
