BATON ROUGE, La. (WAFB) - One person was injured in a shooting in Baton Rouge Monday night, January 27. According to emergency officials, the shooting happened around 7:30 p.m. on Lorraine Street near Longfellow Drive. Officials said the victim is stable at this time.

Officers determined that a man was shot around 7:35 p.m. before walking inside the Delmont Gardens Branch Library to ask for help. Someone contacted the police and he was taken to the hospital. BRPD said he is expected to survive his injuries. The investigation remains ongoing into a suspect and motive related to this shooting.

Baton Rouge Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting after being called to the scene at 11:17 p.m. Saturday in the 6500 block of Blackberry Street.

Authorities responded to the scene at around 11:17 p.m. and found Karvell St. Cyr, 22, deceased from gunshot wounds.
