Know County Schools will avoid a third snow day on Friday, Feb. 21, but won't quite be back to business as usual. The district announced at 5 p.m. Feb. 20 that classes would begin on a two-hour delay Friday for Knox County students.

Brown County Schools are operating on a two-hour delay today due to continued snow-covered roads in some areas. Superintendent Emily Tracy issued this message to parents Tuesday: “Our team is concerned about the gravel roads throughout the county.

The Middletown School District is reminding parents that it has adopted a 2-hour delayed opening model on inclement weather days.

This is the third consecutive day this week scheduling for the schools has been impacted by weather conditions.

ALLEGHANY COUNTY, N.C. — Allleghany County Schools will operate on a two-hour delay Monday, the district announced Sunday evening. The district said the decision was made to delay the start of the school day "due to slick road conditions in and around the Piney Creek area of the county, along with dropping temperatures."

Cumberland County Schools and buildings will remain closed Friday following sleet and snow in the area, the district announced Thursday. Officials said the decision is because freezing temperatures Thursday night are expected to make roads unsafe for travel into Friday.
