The Colorado Department of Transportation closed all eastbound lanes of Vail Pass on Tuesday morning to allow crews to recover the wreckage of a semi that crashed last week.

Eastbound I-70 near Vail is back open Tuesday afternoon after Colorado Department of Transportation crews worked to clean the wreckage from a major crash on Vail Pass last week. Eastbound I-70 was completely shut down from East Vail to Copper Mountain for that cleanup until 2:15 p.

The full closure is expected to last at least six hours. Motorists should be prepared to add an additional 90 minutes to their commute.
