The Indian equity market faced a significant selloff as the BSE Sensex dropped over 1,200 points and NSE Nifty fell by 320 points, following US President Trump’s trade tariff announcements. Market capitalization decreased by ₹7 lakh crore.

Sensex closed 1,235 points lower at 75,838 and Nifty slipped 320 pts to 23,024. With today's crash, Sensex is down 2.94% and Nifty has lost 2.62% this year.

The Indian stock market witnessed a major crash today, with the BSE Sensex crashing over 1,000 points from its daily high and the NSE Nifty slipping below the 23,200 mark. The crash was mainly led by a sharp fall in banking and metal stocks.
