Sanders — Colorado’s polarizing star quarterback — completely fell out of the first round Thursday night in the 2025 NFL Draft. In a shaky quarterback draft class, just two quarterbacks went in Round 1: Miami’s Cam Ward at No. 1 to the Titans and Mississippi’s Jaxson Dart at No. 25 to the Giants.

After trades were heavily teased within the early picks, the Jacksonville Jaguars jumped to No. 2 to land WR/CB hybrid Travis Hunter, with the Cleveland Browns stepping back to No. 5, among other pick additions. The New York Giants then made two key selections that could very well benefit their future, one player on each side of the ball.

The son of NFL Hall of Famer Deion Sanders, Shedeur Sanders was one of the biggest names in the 2025 NFL Draft. At one point, he was in the discussion as this year’s top quarterback and a candidate to go in the top three picks.
