The Ohio State Buckeyes moved on to the College Football Playoff National Championship Game despite a one catch performance from Jeremiah Smith

After opening the College Football Playoff on a tear, Ohio State freshman Jeremiah Smith was held to one catch in the semifinals against Texas.

DALLAS -- Jeremiah Smith just his least productive game as a college football player and Ohio State still won by 14 points. Texas’ entire game plan was telling the Buckeyes that everyone but the freshman wide receiver was allowed to touch the ball. The result was only one three-yard catch as the Buckeyes had to look elsewhere for offense.

Ohio State wide receiver Jeremiah Smith came into the Cotton Bowl as the breakout star of the College Football Playoff. In wins over Tennessee and Oregon, Smith exploded for 290 yards and four touchdowns as the Buckeyes won the matchups by a combined 45 points.
