Highly recommend climbing to the top to see the 360 degree lookout views. Very nice staff and informative on the tour. Great place to visit when in the Cape Henry and Virginia Beach area.Full review by Jason H

Be forewarned, the lighthouses are on a military base, Fort Story. All visitors to the lighthouses have to go security checks. Visitors can go up in the old lighthouse but not the newer one that is…Full review by Skip G

As long a you have a valid license and auto insurance. They also inspect your vehicle, looking for weapons and such.

We were told at the gate that unless they are service dogs they cannot go to the lighthouse. It was a hot day, so they said the dogs were allowed to stay in the car if someone was with them.
